Press Release – MVHS Annual General Meeting
Manning Valley Historical Society [MVHS] recently conducted its Covid-delayed Annual General Meeting at the Wingham Services Club. The meeting was well attended by many of the volunteers who contribute to the success of the Wingham Museum and the extensive range of MVHS research, educational and archival activities.
Outgoing President Gary Hollis commended members on their commitment to continue maintaining and developing services throughout a difficult year of Covid restrictions. Incoming President Terry Tournoff echoed these sentiments and encouraged members to share their ideas and plans for future growth. “New volunteers are always welcome,” he said.
Member for Myall Lakes Stephen Bromhead, Professor John Ramsland, Mave Richardson AM PSM and Eric Richardson OAM, were re-appointed Patrons of the Society.
The Wingham Museum is ranked as one of the top 10 regional Museums in NSW. It is managed and operated entirely by volunteers and has a proud history of community involvement. For more than thirty years MVHS has conducted the Australia Day Ceremony in Wingham`s Central Park. Planning for the 2021 Ceremony is already well underway.
